Hey there viewers! My name is Eric O. and I own and operate a small town 3 bay shop in upstate NY. I grew up in the automotive industry (in my parents shop) and have over 17 years (working full time as a mechanic) experience repairing domestic and Asian cars and light trucks. This is all I've done my whole life. It's my hope and desire to produce videos that provide accurate information saving you time and money while sharing my love for fixing cars, my knowledge and my experiences with you as I travel through automotive repairs day to day in the shop.

I stopped going to a specific tire place because several times my wheels were torqued to 150ft lbs and over ... recommended 100ft lbs. Great way to have a bad day if you get a flat and one of those studs become cross threaded from being stretched. This from a business that specializes purely in tires... Blows my mind

What I have in the past is if you can access the back of the stud I cut off the back of the stud with a torch and pop the stud right out. I've had to unbolt the caliper to gain access but it's always worked for me

Funny you mentioned a mass air flow sensor. On my 2005 focus I was getting lean codes. Changed the mass air flow sensor. Checked the injectors, egr, fuel delivery. Ended back to the mass air flow reporting too high. Put in another. It read the same. After changing them with the auto parts stores 3 lifetime warrantied sensor, went to the junk yard and found an oem sensor. Finally that one read correctly and I have no more lean issue and the car runs much better. It shucks getting bad new parts. Funny thing that started this whole thing was a cracked air cleaner letting water in getting the original sensor wet, so I replaced it when I changed the air box trying to eliminate a future problem. Hence I created one for me with the new part.

Some technicians are just babies who donโ€™t want to do more work than the bare minimum. They break and wreck anything in their path to do one job then youโ€™re left with the collateral damage. Get it in, done as fast as possible to make as much money as possible and kick it out the door.

Can't even pick it up on the lift as he thinks it will break in two and the other shop passes it for inspection. Seems they are desperate for customers. Eric O. Does not have that problem. Why? It is called ethics people. I just wished he lived closer to me because when as old as me you need someone to help you now and then. I had every fluid changed over in Lynnwood and had to take it to my Dodge dealer and he said "do you want me to change your coolant in the engine it looks like toothpaste". He got a very large demerit from my fairness counter
