How could it have taken so long to investigate this. There are clearly questionable elements in these returns, and the amounts are not small. For the average citizen, there would have been immediate consequences, for even small amounts. How is this fair? And talk of the statute of limitations? He has been allowed to stonewall for more than 5 years. If he is allowed to get off with a technicality here, I think that it will be extremely hard for the government to collect taxes from any citizen from this point on.
