So, if Ted could do what AOC could do while out of the country, then that completely negates Phil’s critique. JUST TRASH LOGIC THERE. Second, the real reason people are upset is valid. Ted represents Texas. He is a Texan. However, because of his position, he is not suffering the harm other Texans are suffering. It makes him look like he is above the situation because he isn’t taking part in the communal suffering. Joe’s critique is basically what could he do here that he can’t do in Mexico from a laptop. If you don’t understand the ins and outs of taxes, you don’t have investments, business etc. Don’t give your two cents on someone else’s taxes. There’s a huge difference between Tax Evasion and Tax Avoidance. Tax Evasion is straight up illegal. Tax Avoidance is not illegal. You use things like tax loop holes, your investments, businesses and charity donations etc to offset how much tax you pay cause the government tries to tax you on everythinggggg. This is how smart people with money work. If they don’t know how to do it themselves, they hire an accountant who knows their shit to do it. And again, it’s not illegal. I’m so tired of everyone thinking just because you have money you’re supposed to pay more tax or they’re not paying enough. Technically, yes, the more money you make, the more you’ll get taxed, but that’s where offsetting and other tax avoidance methods come in. Stop being a hater and work smarter. Educate yourself on taxes, the market, investing etc then you’ll start to understand how it all works. The government has so many bullshit payments and taxes they make you pay for no good reason, and when you try to make more money to move up in life, they tax you more. If you’re simply lodging your taxes as is every year without looking into ways to offset (to start with) you’re the idiot lmao. The government likes people like you.

On the teacher story as a substitute/assistant teacher... honestly from the clips you showed... those are kind remarks. I'm going to say that teachers really lack an outlet to actually vent their frustrations with work, with it either being about the students or the parents. I myself have had some hell parents to work with, and with other teachers I would complain about it because those where the only ones I felt comfortable talking about it with. *Yes* it's increadibly dumb of them to do so during a zoom call, but I'm going to say that this is the work envirenment that the schools fosters, with a "kiddy gloves with the kids and parents in front of kids and parents, brass knuckles amongst the teachers themselves" because there are so many things you want to do and want to fix, but either student or parent lack of cooperation really halts the process. Hell, we in Norway had an incident where some teachers where calling the parents of a kid that had acted up, didn't get a response from the parents, and then they hadn't realized they had gone to voice mail and then started talking about "how to deal with the kid" and the parents went to the news about how they felt their kid where being targeted. No that's just how you talk about some kids when they have acted in a way that requires action. to just mention a couple incidents I have been privy too, we've had kids breaking doors, breaking windows, throwing others belongings onto unaccesible areas on roofs, *breaking a teachers ankle in soccer* just to name a few, and then when thinking you are in a private setting saying "how are we supposed to deal with this" *even* with the parents there, it's a valid and non-malicious response, it's a frustrated one. all in all, this is 100% normal for teachers, but god damnit they are still dumb for doing so in public
