$2200 for a tread depth gage? Did I hear that right?
Joshua GeorgeDay ago
Damn!!! $2200? Yep, the $2200 tire gauge told me I in fact do need a $1000 set of tires. Not to bad, only cost me $3200 for bad tire diagnosis and then a set of tires, I sure wish I'd had another $1500 for them rims. Maybe next time I get to use my fancy tool it'll tell me I need both. Smh. These rich ass Republicans. The man working on his own car can't afford it, and the shop don't need something their eyes can tell them. Wonder who the sheep is?
Joshua GeorgeDay ago
Wow $32 starting price for a light the you have to hold. I wonder if it comes with the British fella to come hold it for you so you can actually get them hands dirty? Without having to fish you light out of the engine bay the whole time. Idk maybe that just a me problem.

I just loved the content that was shown in-between the commercials. But now I feel sort of dirty, and used.

No wonder the labour fees are over $100 per hour! I don't see the point in car lifts that obstruct or obscure access to the car bottom, AND a good 2 post lift is 1/3 the cost.
Gibson J503 days ago
I hated the damn noise that you played over the top of the person talking. I won't be watching anything else.
Erik Wright3 days ago
That lift gets in the way of alotta things for the price
CourtDay ago
And you can get a more functional two post lift for 1/3 the price. No one will buy it.
jonathan hutsell2 days ago
I was looking at that like this is pointless for the stuff I need to reach
Jay A3 days ago
great until that chair/creeper decides to open itself up while you're under a truck lolol

These all seem great, UNTIL you see the price. All of them are tremendously over-priced, which makes them a lot less impressive.

Ever notice that most of the ''techs' have clean clothes and manicured nails? Nobody at dealerships repair anything, they are ''parts changers'' and the dealer bags you mega money for this. Tire reader? I think not, I used a tread depth gauge for 25 years at a tire shop. Quicker and cheaper.
Guy Larawayjr4 days ago
You are right. I haven't seen anyone overhaul anything in a dealership in about 25 or 30 years.
Logan5 days ago
Yeah...everyone has 30K bucks and a big enough garage for a huge motorized tool box with tires and steering wheel!
Cristian Chelcea5 days ago
you bloody idiot, who buy this shit?!? those prices are ridiculous!!!

$2200 for a tread checker holy hell !
Bruce Morris5 days ago
$30.000 for a toolbox. Sounds like something the government would buy.

And it doesn't look like it holds much. And where in the world would you work that requires moving your tools that far or that often?

I believe I rented a room one summer to the same ~28 y/o "Brilliant GENIUS" who was working on his Phd in Artificial Intelligence. He asked me f/help one day because he was having problems trying to do a load of laundry. There was a trail of water coming out from the 'ol conventional washer. He'd packed the washing machine tub SOLID with clothes, so there was absolutely NO Room for water. No doubt this same genius is behind such brilliant "tech" that helps those not as gifted as others in guaging their tire tread/wear, or finding/wiping their posteriors!

20,000$ for a creeper (human hoist)
Aioanei Teofil5 days ago
This video makes no sense...at least don’t use that title! All these gadgets are nice when you talk about them but when you add the price to them they become nonsense that no small garage is really going to need and no big garage is going to spend money on. I believe the only usable gadget is the mag-pad, but only if it’s under 20$!!
Gavigg755 days ago
Fat bastard can't even get off the ground how do you expect them to fix anything

6 grand for a lift that makes it only slightly easier to work on small to mid sized vehicles or 3 grand for a proper car lift that can lift full size pick ups with ease and give you all the working space you need??

J.A.R. Family6 days ago
That's not a snap-on box. That creeper is stupid and lazy, flashlight? Yeah right, the lift hell no, magnetic pad is cool, dent removal ok.
Scott Eric6 days ago
The motorized toolbox is great and all, but the reaction from your neighbors seeing you ride your full size master series out of your uhaul and ramp is still worth the money. The downside is 800 lbs will destroy your driveway.
Guy Larawayjr4 days ago
@Scott Eric good point. Moved mine alone enough times to appreciate that. But not 30k worth. That is a lot of flat bed or trailer rental.
Scott Eric4 days ago
@Guy Larawayjr I mean that's cool and all, I just like the ability to not need a flatbed or lift gate service.
Guy Larawayjr4 days ago
800 lbs? Light weight. My box topped out at about 2300.

"Tools you can buy for your garage right now." Shows a $30k mobile toolbox, a creeper that will probably never see production, a $6k car lift, a useless tread reader, tools for professional body-repair shops only, and a bore-scope that doesn't do anything different than any other bore-scope. What a waste of time.

Car Bench UL-300 is a death trap waiting to happen! I can't see anywhere where you could put pins along the bottom to stop the scissors on the right hand side from dropping in case there is a wiring fault or ram seal failure or weld failure
chad andrade6 days ago
That thing is bulit very similar to a car-o-liner frame machine.. the locks are on the bottom and works independently from the hydraulics. The pinch weld clamps and pulling tower look to be the same as the car-o-liner.

Christopher Dean7 days ago
Really??? A minute of video on the motorised tool chest, and three damn seconds of it actually being driven?? And not even being driven properly??? Also, spend a gajillion quid on a motorised device to stand you up rather than using your own damn muscles?? WTF????
m b7 days ago
The Car Bench is pretty much useless for other than wheel service. (Looks like the complete under carriage is covered up when lifted......)
m b7 days ago
@walter bracey OK, That would make more sense then.. ;)
walter bracey7 days ago
It's for collision repair. Hence the reason for sill clamps and a pulling arm. Though a direct rip off to car-o-liners speed bench

csorrows8 days ago
"Tires" and "wheels" are 2 completely different things. You can tell this dude actually knows nothing about automotive.
csorrows7 days ago
@GRJCLyon I think you have nailed it.
GRJCLyon7 days ago
@csorrows I think because some people refer to a car as a "set of wheels" I honestly don't know. I mean it's easy, just google the definition and click photos and you'd know. Maybe it's a cancel culture thing. People are stupid.
csorrows7 days ago
@GRJCLyon Yea, I used to own a tire shop. I have no clue how this got to be the norm. I mean, the tire goes on the wheel. How could that get confused?
GRJCLyon7 days ago
Haha. Actually if you watch last years season if the Ellen show, this was brought up in one of the games. The contestant was to name a certain amount of vehicle parts so he said wheels and tires. He was marked wrong and they told him they are the same thing. But yes, you are correct they are different.
Studio23 Media8 days ago
That Snap-on motorized chest will only cost you $500/month for 300 months 😂
Jack Richards7 days ago
Uhh! Excuse my saying?? It's actually 600 months and is transferable to any apprentice in his first 3 months. Thank you for choosing Snapon!
Paul8 days ago
2200 bucks to check tread depth?! Damn! An 8 dollar tread depth gauge from NAPA will get ya 21 hundred and 92 dollars for cold beer. Do the math!
Paul8 days ago
Imagine using that portable lift (looks real sturdy) and your "human lift" together. You inadvertently hit the joystick up position and get crushed into the bottom of your car. Then your "human lift" raises the lift just enough to release and the whole fucking thing hits the floor with you stuck somewhere in the middle. Talk about getting the "double-fuk-me" straight up your ass. It wouldn't be so funny if it wasn't possible. And today's Darwin Award goes to.....

The mag pad... If it holds a 25lb weight without problem, Doesn’t it mean the pas is sticking to the metal wall at >25 lb force also? (I meant, correct for gravitational direction, friction, etc, to a horizontal direction, etc, you know what I’m talking about) Good luck removing that pad from the metal wall.

The human hoist, this thing must have been made of 24k gold. They want $19,900 for that thing. Thats nuts. I cant stand when they introduce a cool product like that but price it so no one but a millionaire can afford the damn thing. Between that and the Snapon tool box gokart you got 50k into fancy stuff that you still need to spend a bost load more to use

Other thing from harbor freight, the stick light. Harbor has been making one for years, and its cheap at like 25 bucks, and replaceable 18650s. I own 2, much better than that cheap shitty one they showed here.

I was a mechanic for 8 years and I can say every single one of these would be completely useless in 99% of shops.

@Jack Richards I would be for a while until every tech in the shop "borrows" them and then your left with an empty tray in 3-4 months.
Jack Richards7 days ago
@Cam I figured th pocket size magnet would be handy to have a box-full in the workshop???

@csorrows Yeah 8 years was enough time for me to realize being a tech was not worth all the bullshit that comes with it. Be well friend.
