I personally dont have much of an issue with GMOs as we are going to have 2 rely on them more and more as the population grows and as climate change issues continue to rise. I also think you cant lump all GMOs into the same category. Like cross breeding 2 kinds of oranges or something isnt exactly the same as manipulating a plants DNA and adding genes from a completely different type of food like when they added a brazil nut gene into soy beans or watever, I 4got the exact plants involved. Either way though they need more long term studies b4 anything can be said for certain.

Thank you 4 exposing these frauds! I just dont understand how people make these fake hacks that can really be harmful and just dont care that they might be really hurting people! Like, why!? For some stupid views!? Humans really disgust me a lot of the time. Also I'm 99% sure bananas are a fruit, not a veggie, but no big deal. Im glad 2 know all these hack videos arent real though. I used to try them sometimes and be so frustrated that my attempts never worked! It never occurred to me that anyone would make videos like that and just blatantly LIE, purposely making hacks they know are BS! I'm lucky I never tried anything dangerous!

Pretty sure for the people who grow bananas for a income and food source would need the gmo banana otherwise they'd have to find something or somewhere else to plant

GMO phobias, why? Everything we eat has at one time or another over thousands of years been modified. Maze (corn), apples, peppers (you can't get to a ghost pepper without modification), and there are thousands of other examples.
Kirsten RichardsDay ago
In the US some of us put chocolate, marshmallows, and red hots inside a banana, wrap it in foil, and heat it in the coals of a campfire when camping. It’s a similar tradition to s’mores in youth camping or at least it was decades ago when I was a kid. I don’t recall thinking it smelled bad. I do recall the taste and liked it but liked s’mores better. We called it a banana boat long before I ever heard of suntan oil of the same name.

My main problem with GMO is in apples tbh... they grow them to be larger and prettier and as a result they lose all the taste and become crispy water

Cooking banana peels isn't as uncommon as you think. In many countries, to eliminate food waste, they cook with everything. It's why their are so many recipes that exist using the "throw away" parts of animals

The only thing I have against GMOs is that they are owned by monopolies (IE Soros) who have a lot of control over small farmers. I have no problem with the GMO food itself and think they could solve a lot of problems

The work this woman is doing is colossal (in the best possibly imagined sense): she not only does killer research (kudos!) and comes up with down-to-earth "classes" in her videos; she is confronting the "farms" along with whoever and whatever may be behind them. She is like a lone hero trying her best for at least a few (ten-? hundred-?) thousands to see what YT and other platforms have become. All this without calling revolution or screaming death to capitalism. BRAVA!

I must have been watching this, when I fell asleep. Because I had a dream about a guy putting banana juice on his face, for health. But the guy in my dream, was spinning the banana in a mechanism, to get the juices to the tip (real dream) . Hmmmmm.... #1, .... not gay. #2, I don't believe in most "natural cure" videos. #3, (I just made and ate pop-tarts for the first time in 30 years.)

There are cuisines where people do & have been eating banana peels along with the banana. But we don't eat it raw (we cook it with other ingredients) & we don't eat the ripe ones peel. Just thought it's an interesting fact . They do have nutritional value. It's just a cultural thing. I guess it could be weird for others

*People are afraid of what they don't understand.* Only those that don't have chemical knowledge are afraid of all "chemicals", even though we are literally made of them, when they really mean carcinogens. People that don't know how genetic modification works either, and will avoid GMO foods because they think it's inherently bad, but don't know why foods are being modified in the first place (like avoiding disease in the plants) or how many genetically modified foods they're actually eating on a weekly basis. Knowledge is the only way to defeat ignorance induced fear.
Bella Joella6 days ago
I would be more then fine eating the genetically modified banana. Especially if one was bread to have the sugars ripen into pretty much any sugar other then fructose. I can't have more fructose so I have to eat fairly green bananas or really small portions of them.

The banana with chocolate is actually called a Banana Boat. We made them in Girl Scouts/Girl Guides. When you cut the wedge, leave the peel attached. Add in chocolate, marshmallows, or whatever you like. Put the peel back in place, wrap it in aluminum foil, and put it at the edge of a campfire (or in a microwave) for a few minutes to let it all get melty and gooey.

I have no issue with GMOs. I think a lot of the fear and apprehension around them comes from misinformation. If someone you trusted told you that GMO meant someone was taking frog DNA and implanting it into human embryos, you'd probably be upset, too. The best way to combat misinformation is with research, trust and patience. Once someone has been indoctrinated to believe that vaccines cause autism and hormonal birth control is turning the frogs gay, it takes a lot to undue that damage.

14:10-ish: We used to make baked bananas a little like that at guide camp on the campfire (and we were told if you want to do it at home, bake them in the oven (about 10 mins). Only difference, we peeled the banana, did just one slit down it and pressed in chocolate buttons (and occasionally sprinkles), then wrapped it tight in tinfoil to bake. In all honesty, when I've been short on money, or feeling very nostalgic, I've made it since, but it's not the world's greatest dessert (a baked apple is way better).

In principle I have no problem with GMO food. Earlier methods to increase rate of mutation (used since the 1950s) use radiation to induce random mutations and then kept mutated varieties that had benefits. This is not labeled as GMO I think (citation needed). So, I personally prefer this more specific introduction of the specific gene into the plant. My only problem with GMO is when they introduce a gene to make it resistant to a specific pesticide so farmers can heavily spray them, or modify a plant such that it can't grow without fertilizers from a company. It is the pesticide and the ability of farmers to afford seeds/fertilizers I worry about, not the modified plant.

You actually didn’t do the pulled pork one the right way (so didn’t 5MC). In order to make it, you have to use overripe bananas. Also, it would make it better to fry it in the oven for a little bit after frying it in the pan.

The plastic wrap works for me.🤷🏽♂️ Ive tried the fridge, hanging, wrap, just leaving them on the table, inside a plastic bag as well. I normally just wrap the tops or hang them. I dont like gmos. I prefer all natural. But idk if I could be without bananas. If this was really a natural issue they would evolve. But humans really do cause most of the issues.

We have been genetically modifying food for over 10000 years or more. Pretty much everything humans eat that doesn't just grow naturally in a forest (and even then it might have been genetically modified by humans long ago and re-entered wild ecosystems) is a GMO. Orange carrots are a GMO, Corn is a GMO, Wheat is a GMO, the Cavendish Banana is a GMO, pigs are GMO, sheep are GMO even dogs are GMO. Just because we've become more efficient and can now do it over the course of 2-3 years with high-tech laboratories doesn't make it any different than selectively breeding over multiple decades.

Anti-GMO sentiment is idiotic fear mongering, if there were any issues we would have seen them years ago. The amount of safety testing it need for approval to market is so great that any GMO with a chance of having an issue would have been screened out anyways. GMO, unlike radiated or mutation bred crops need to be tested and labelled despite being safer as less DNA is changed and we know what the changes are, anyone who is against GMO need to pick up a secondary school (middle school) biology textbook
