I watched the first overall pick of the MLS Superdraft in my laptop and when Austin FC selected Daniel Pereira, my phone's notification sound sounded off which was Da baby saying "Let's Gooooo" 😂 immediately.

The MLS draft is a joke. This is football ⚽️ not the NFL,NBA, or MLB.

This year's big winners so far are Philly, who were smart enough to trade all their draft picks for money so they can buy actual professional players.

@MDAC1012 well, while you are here on your laptop writing about how terrible this players are, they didnt only studied hard to get to college, but they made an effort in football to play professionally. You'd be lying to yourself if you wouldn't want that life.

@BravoRageSquadron NYRB is the team I used to have season tickets too. Our best years was when we made smart veteran signings. Right now there is too much reliance on young players but over the last 5 or 6 years, the young players that have been impactful in anyway have been through the academy and homegrown programs. In that same period the only draft picks that are even still on the team or made any real contribution have been Barlow and White. And to be fair, White actually spent time with RB U-23S, even though he didn't qualify as a homegrown player.

@MDAC1012 Well the thing with Philly is that they have a good system going with their young players, not all MLS clubs are at that level yet. I see where allocation money can hold more value but the fact of the matter is you need depth just as much as you need top notch players and these guys are also very low risk. I can see where some clubs might find it feasible to skip out on the draft some years or give up some of their picks, overall it has lost its importance yes but there are some gems in the making waiting to be picked. As of matter of fact, look at NYRB they have probably the 2nd best academy behind Dallas and they make very good use of the draft. NYRB hardly signs players and if they do those players are usually bargain players from Europe and the rest of their team is draft picks and homegrowns and the still manage to be competitive.

@BravoRageSquadron yeah, been following MLS since 1996 and was a season ticket holder for several years, I am aware of the rules. Philadelphia has the right idea, homegrown and academy players and go sign specific veterans. I believe the value you can get from the allocation money is better value than you will get in this draft, maybe outside of a handful of players. The draft used to be very important, it isn't anymore
