What are ya'll going to do if we get a hurricane? It going to be hot and it's possible to lose electricity for a week or longer. This was a unpredictable winter storm that comes around rarely. I'm a senior citizen that have lived in the southern United States all my life. I was without light from Monday morning at 6:45 am until 7 pm Friday night. My water went Tuesday, but I caught bowls and pots and buckets of water when the lights went off because I knew that no lights city wide mean the water pumping stations was going offline also. So please keep up with the local weather starting June 1st through November 30th. That hurricane season. Good luck, Texas is a awesome state to live in just stay prepared. God bless Em and Von

As long as the freezer isn't being opened consistently the food will remain frozen. The same with the refrigerator but when in doubt throw it out. Where I live we get snowed in sometimes and lose power but thankful we have a generator. Stay safe❤💪🏾🙏🏾❤

@Em & Von I am in the field of property management. If your power goes out again, your food in the fridge can last up to 24 hours in the fridge with no power. The cold inside the fridge will last that long. The less you open the fridge, the longer the cold air in the fridge last and the longer your food last. Hope this helps.

Ugh welcome to houston.be prepared.always have canned food and charcoal to grill, water stored, flashlights, batteries, gas tanks full, and most importantly a generator.in houston you will deal with this often.particularly im late summer when hurricane season ramps up.i was with no power or water for 14 days with harvey.A few of us on the street had generators and we were able to keep our fridges plugged in and one window ac plugged in to keep one bedroom cool.we all pitched in with food and took turns bbqn and we made it through.please buy a generator and have a hurricane kit on hand at all times.welcome to houston.it feels apocolyptic at least once a year here.u will get uses to it but be prepared or u will be miserable! Best of luck
